ITS (UK) member Technolution has revealed it will be deploying its MobiMaestro traffic management platform in Copenhagen as part of the city’s efforts to stimulate uptake of cycling and public transport.

Technolution’s platform will be installed at the Danish capital’s traffic control centre.

The city will be using an advanced sensor network to collect extensive traffic data, which will make it possible to provide better information to road users so they can arrive at their destinations more quickly.

It will also be possible to harmonize traffic lights with each other, contributing to better vehicle flow and reduced carbon emissions. This will support Copenhagen’s goal of being carbon neutral by 2025.

Technolution will be working on the project with partners Hermes Traffic Intelligence, Jesper K Thomsen, COWI, V!gør, InfraTeam and ITS Teknik.

The firm claims that its solution will support Copenhagen’s five thematic goals for 2018. These are ‘improved traffic flow and increased green transport’, ‘improved road safety through intelligent street lighting’, ‘big data traffic management’, ‘accessible information and services’, and ‘dynamic urban space’.
